Funding
Clean Energy Transition Institute Funders
Stolte Family Foundation
CETI deeply appreciates the Stolte Family Foundation’s critical support, which provided the initial funding to commission the Northwest deep decarbonization pathways study and the seed funding to establish the Clean Energy Transition Institute. To date, the Stolte Family Foundation has contributed $1,030,000 to CETI. For 2024, the SFF is providing $80,000 in operating support. Without the Stolte Family Foundation’s financial support and strategic guidance, CETI would not exist.
Bullitt Foundation
In September 2019, the Bullitt Foundation awarded the CETI a grant for $30,000 to support the Institute’s Community-Defined Decarbonization project (formerly Equitable Rural Building Decarbonization). In October 2022, the Bullitt Foundation awarded the Clean Energy Transition Institute a grant for $30,000 to update Northwest Deep Decarbonization Pathways modeling, with specific focus on building decarbonization through the Operation 2030 project.
Seattle Foundation
In December 2019, the Seattle Foundation awarded the Clean Energy Transition Institute a grant for $25,000 to support the Institute’s Community-Defined Decarbonization project (formerly Equitable Rural Building Decarbonization); and in June 2022, the foundation awarded $25,000 to support the Community-Defined Decarbonization.
Tableau Foundation
In May 2020, the Tableau Foundation awarded CETI a grant of software and training that consists of several Tableau licenses with a market value of $51,575 to support the Institute's Northwest Clean Energy Atlas.
Sustainable Path Foundation
In December 2020, the Sustainable Path Foundation awarded CETI Institute a grant of $10,000 in support of the Institute’s work in 2021; in December 2021, the foundation awarded $10,000 for our Operation 2030: Scaling Building Decarbonization in Washington State project; and in July 2022, the foundation awarded an additional $10,000 for Operation 2030. In June 2023, the foundation awarded an additional $10,000 for our SCALE 2030 project.
McKinstry Charitable Foundation
In May 2023, the McKinstry Charitable Foundation awarded the Clean Energy Transition Institute a two-year $150,000 grant that commenced in July 2023 to support our SCALE 2030 project.
Arthur M. Blank Foundation
In January 2024, the Arthur M. Blank Foundation provided funding for CETI to produce an assessment of the jobs and workforce development opportunities in Montana and Idaho, to join similar analysis of Washington and Oregon workforce data. The four-state analysis extends the Net-Zero Northwest Workforce Analysis that CETI released on November 15, 2023, a part of the overall Net-Zero Northwest project.
The Russell Family Foundation
The Russell Family Foundation generously granted CETI $20,000 in December 2023 to support our Community-Defined Decarbonization (CDD) project. This project aims to expand the quantitative and qualitative analysis we performed in 2021-2022 to understand Washington rural communities' desires for how the clean energy transition will unfold.
